Sunday with Sugar Sister

Assalamualaikum.

Happy 62th Independence Day, Malaysia!
Salam Maal Hijrah too!

Since independence day jatuh pada hari Sabtu and Maal Hijrah on Sunday, we have off day on Monday too! So dapat la rasa cuti lama sikit.

Btw, today is Sunday. Harini pagi-pagi lagi dah bangun walaupun cuti. Already planned with Zaty to have breakfast together. Kami berangan nak breakfast like Asma Nasa. Posh liddat hahaha. Actually, lepas birthday celebration dekat Sharing Plates haritu, aku dok teringat-ingat dia punya foods yang sedap-sedap tu. Kebetulan Zaty nak beli bunga area situ, so we both macam ok let's go.

So Zaty picked me up from home. She's wearing all fancy and looks so beautiful. Lucky my potato self did a bit of makeup too lols. Tapi memang kitaorang dah plan nak pakai cantik-cantik to feel good. Siap pakai heels ok nak pegi breakfast hahaha. F laugh at me when he looked at me doing makeup for breakfast date. Huh whatever, guy don't understand things like this.

Btw we are so excited!!!!!

I think this entry akan ada banyak gambar je la eh. Saja nak buat kenangan. Lagipun gambar semua lawaaaa sebab guna camera. Well, gambar memang letops so I nak spam kat entry ni banyak-banyak. Nak letak dekat Instagram nanti takut orang cakap "eh budak ni acah Lofa pulak diaaaaa" hahaha.

Outside. Nanti dah ada rumah berangan nak wall macam ni jugak :)

Ok, start acah. Kaki silang sikit, pastu kepit sikit. Tangan pegang shades supaya tak nampak kayu sangat. Mulut buka sikit macam bernafas melalui mulut.

Uuuuu acah Neelofa uuuu. Adik aku kalau nampak ni mesti akan cakap Nee-Loya!

Pastu sambung dalam kedai. Bila makanan sampai, macam ni la rupa kami berdua sibuk snap gambar untuk tatapan netizen :") Siap ada purse dengan shades ok buat props, apa-apa je lah labu.

Toast with teh tarik sauce. Fancy giler breakfast hahaha padahal setiap hari makan cekodok dengan roti canai segera je. This is my order, tapi tak kenyang sebab yelah--desserts je kot. Terus teringat nasi lemak ayam goreng berempah.

Ni cappucino Zaty punya.

Chicken char siew spaghetti, sedap. Pun Zaty punya, aku punya langsung tak mengenyangkan.

Bukan kenyang pun, pastu dok teringat nasi jugak. Mama tahu aku makan benda tak kenyang macamniiiiii---siap sedia la dengar bebelan sampai berasap telinga.

Aku bila nampak makanan.

Sambung acah melihat ke luar jendela.

Zaty taknak kalah. Siap pakai Ducks uolls. Pastu pakai shades padahal rabun tak nampak apa-apa hahahaha. Things we do for photo :"))))

We hang out lama jugak dalam kedai tu. Sampai waiter mintak bayar dulu sebab nak close accounts hahaha. Pastu baru ada kesedaran nak beredar.

Niat asal kan nak beli bunga, so kita singgah kedai bunga. Ini dried flower, cantik!

Ini bunga Zaty nak buat order bouquest customer. Btw, if you read this--you can check her arts on @thepetalseries.co. She's talented you'll love her art!

Lepastu balik rumah!
Sekian laporan hari ini. Currently typing this entry at Chatto, for free wifi hahaha.
Dan sebenarnya acah nak baca buku eh tapi terbuat entry blog pulak.

XOXO!

Fuhh rasa macam buat resume panjang-panjang gini. Basically, 2018 was a really difficult year for me. At some parts, I was miserable, exhausted and sad. 2018 was my year of tears. There were really some tough nights but alhamdulillah I survived it all.

2018 was my year of growth and getting out of my comfort zone. I met new amazing peoples, learnt new things, explore new cities. 2018 pushed me to be stronger, be the best version of myself. 2018 taught me to never give up and never lose hope-- that I'll get there, I just have to keep trying and never stop when things getting harder. To be honest, I don't want to repeat 2018.

So-what's up 2019?

I pray that 2019 will be my year where I'll bloom beautifully. I don't seek perfectness but I want to see good in all bad, to repent while I still can, to devote myself to my God, my parents and family, to be grateful with what I have, to always volunteer myself to do good things and to learn new experience and knowledge.

Tapi semestinya I kena ada resolutions, supaya hidup ada goals gitu. Hidup tanpa arah tuju ni--memenatkan. Moh ler kite.

1. Read 24 books, two books per month.
2. Bungee jumping!
3. Save RM3k.
4. Dhuha at least three times a week.
5. Tahajud at least once a week.
6. Khatam Al-Quran twice in a year-while reading the tafseer.
7. Perform the taubah prayer at least once a week.
8. Buy my first car.
9. Start a charity project for my school-maybe provide water dispenser for students' usage? Or anything they need.
10. Donate regularly.
11. Buy gold.
12. Perform ibadah korban.
13. Take care of a pot plant-cactus?
14. Donate blood-omg so scare!
15. Join a class-uruskan jenazah, the correct way to pray, or anything.

Okay, that's all. I'll add more in my planner-which I didn't buy yet :)

I think my resolutions are more realistic this year and clearer. Let's pray that I can achieve it all. Amin.

I passed!

Assalamualaikum.

I'm typing this entry on 31 August 2017.

Happy independence day, my dear Malaysia. Nothing can beat the feeling of hearing the announcement "To all Malaysian, welcome home" when coming back from a long trip to oversea. Indeed, Malaysia will remain as our sweetest home. And may all the souls of those who sacrificed for this country are blessed by the God.

Sebab......*drum roll*....

I finally passed my driving test!

Cikgu aku pulak garang nauzubillah. Hilang terus confident aku nak drive tau, sobsss. Aku jadi takut-takut nak drive dan rasa lost sebab asyik kena tengking. Tapi takpe, aku kuatkan semangat sebab takkan la aku nak quit separuh jalan.

Lesen kereta ni, aduhaii gagal pulak satu bahagian test. Aaaa stress lagi! Masa tu pulak aku dah habis belajar dekat universiti, satu hal pulak aku nak cari pusat latihan memandu baru.

Then aku sambung dekat Kota Bharu pulak. Malam nak test, allahu bukan setakat rasa butterfly in my stomach je, rasa macam ada zoo dalam perut. Lagi power, masa tu jugak la demam T.T

Alhamdulillah, test kedua ni aku passed!

Bila ingat-ingat balik, ada hikmahnya aku failed masa first test. Cuba imagine, kalau aku lulus, padahal aku takde confident pun drive and drive pun masih kalut dan berbahaya, mesti aku akan bahayakan orang lain kalau dapat lesen masa tu. Sekarang, I dare to say that I am a better driver, not the best but better than before. Alhamdulillah, elok perancangan Tuhan.

So yeah, I got my driving license! I learnt not to give up and go for it no matter how hard it may seem. And one more thing, everything happens for a reason. Ada benda yang kamu suka tapi buruk untuk kamu, dan ada benda yang kamu tidak suka tapi baik bagi kamu-Al Baqarah ayat berapa lupa pulak.

Setel satu lagi checklist 2017 ✅

Review Tiny Elephant Cafe

Assalamualaikum.

How are you everyone? Ecehhh kemain tanya khabar semua orang.

Sekarang I adalah penganggur terhormat. I live with critical bank account, no source of money, and no job (yet). I decided to complete my driving license first and then I'll continue my job hunting.

Ok back to the title.

Fyi, my sisters and I suka sangat minum kopi. Eh dorang la suka minum coffee, I suka pegi ambik gambar makanan and hiasan dalam cafe je. Kalau minum pun mocha or green tea latte je. But we really love to try out coffee around Kota Bharu.

So haritu there's a new cafe in town! It is Tiny Elephant-Soft Serve and Coffee. Fuhhh panjang betul nama kafe kau. Their advertising in instagram is quite appealing.

This cafe is located at the same building with Restoran Wau and nearby Grand Riverview Hotel. They are known for their soft serve- yakni ais krim! Dah nama kafe pun terang-terang tunjukkan apa signature item dorang kan.

On the first visit, ofkos la I beli their signature item dulu. Matcha soft serve! Soft serve ni available in cone dan jugak cup. Cup murah sikit tapi lupa pulok harga. Cone RM6.50 and you can choose vanilla or matcha flavour. You can add topping untuk sedapkan mata memandang. Tambah topping, duit pun kena tambah ye kawan-kawan. I punya RM9, the most cone ice cream I've ever had in my life hahaha.

Emm yang ni lupa dah air ape, latte kot.

The matcha soft serve! Cantik kan?

And...now the real judgement. Ais krim matcha dorang memang best! Satu cone tu memang penuh ice cream sampai ke dasar, bukan setakat bebola seketul di puncak cone. I added pretzel and meringue, and I like both of em.

The next trip we ordered pepperoni pizza, chicken popcorn, buttermilk waffle with soft serve, mocha frappe and purple peppermint ice tea ke amenda ntah nama dia.

Buttermilk waffle with soft serve.

Cantik kan kan? Purple peppermint tea.

SEMUA SEDAP WEH!

Suka sangat dengan waffle dorang, so crispy yet fluffy inside. Pastu pizza dorang jenis thin crust dan sedap jugak. Popcorn chicken pun sedap. Air pun sedap. Alahhh, kan dah cakap semua sedap. Memang puas hati. Again, ini mengikut selera tekak I la ok. Tekak you dan I tak sama, so you have to try it by yourself.

Their interior is very simple but nice. Hahaha taktau nak komen apa sebab memang simple je. Their price pun ok, affordable dan standard kafe hipster la.

Tu je la kot. Maybe next time I'll go again for their waffle. And ice cream. And pizza. And tea. Or maybe everything, hah!

Oh btw dorang ada jual freshly bake tiny cake setiap hari Khamis. Ada macam-macam jenis jugak tak silap I. So pergi la check it out ok?

p/s: Ni bukan paid review. Tak pernah tulis anything paid lagi setakat ni hahaha.

Review Cake Jalan Tiung.

Assalamualaikum.

Last time, I went to Shah Alam.

Selama ni asyik tengok dekat instagram peoples going to this one bakery, I already berangan nak pergi situ jugak bila-bila ada masa. Masa tu stay dekat KL so Shah Alam tu rasa jauh sangat. Tak kuasa nak spend duit dan masa semata-mata demi bakery.

So bila peluang depan mata, cecepat I heret adik pergi Cake Jalan Tiung.

Haritu I pergi awal jugak la dalam pukul 1.

Btw, you have to be cautious masa cari CJT ni sebab dia punya signboard sangat kecik. Kedai dia level 1 ye, bukan ground floor.

Nina beli pavlova, kawan Nina beli Red Velvet dan I beli salted caramel and choc cake. Selain tu, I jugak beli 5 pieces of choc chip cookie sebab dia well present atas kaunter lalu I tak dapat control diri dan beli.

This one is Leng Leng. Lychee something, look appealing but I don't think we can finished 4 slices of cake.

The ultimate chocolate chip cookies that melted in mouth. Yums!

The pavlova. Pinggan dia lawa kan?

Look at that caramel. Wallah!

Jeng jeng jeng!

The review. Cake texture dorang macam kek gula hangus, pernah makan tak? Dia tak dense macam kek Secret Recipe. It's more to spongy texture. Pavlova ok, sedap la jugak tapi I rasa lagi sedap Pavlova dekat Alexis hehe. Red velvet dia so-so je sebab I prefer kek red velvet yang dense and moist. Salted caramel and choc cake dia pun dibuat dengan texture yang sama so I tak minat. And salted caramel tu hanya ada dekat surface cake je, takde pun in between lapisan kek.

Tapi I sukaaaaa choc chip cookie dekat sini. Choc chip dia banyak dan cair. Sedap sangat! I love their cookies! And you should try their cream puff too, I heard it is one of hot selling item at CJT.

Btw, review ni berdasarkan tekak I. Tekak you dan I tak sama, taste kita juga tak sama kan. So boleh la pegi try sendiri bermacam jenis kek dekat Cake Jalan Tiung. Tak lupa jugak, dorang sediakan kek yang berlainan setiap hari. So you can check the menu first on their instagram to find out what cake is on the table. Kecewa tak dapat try Mockingjay haritu tau :'(

The interior. As you can see, dah makin ramai orang masa I nak balik.

Their coffee maker. Kitaorang tak order coffee sebab fikir kek tu dah manis dan kalau tambah coffee, mesti muak.

Outside of the cafe.

Oh, Cake Jalan Tiung ni cantik interior design dia. I like it ahaks.

Overall, ok la sebab I suka makan desserts. Saya bagi 3.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The first and last dinner.

Assalamualaikum.

Sebenarnya event ni dah nak dekat sebulan berlalu tapi sekarang baru ada masa nak update blog. Got to commit to other important stuff.

Ok so let's start!

So this year is my final year as a degree student. Tapi sepanjang 4 tahun ni tak pernah sekalipun my course organised a dinner event. NOT ONCE.

We are the pioneer for this course at the faculty, so basically we're only 28 potatoes from the beginning. The next year our juniors came in and make it more merrier. Years passed by but we 28 potatoes were too lazy to organised a decent dinner for our course. Yeah we did some event like family day to strengthen the bond with our juniors but that's it. Dinner is another event that we must handle with care like a grumpy baby. Year by year, we only watched our friends from another course having fun at their dinner while we grab some burger in the room and watch Doraemon.

However, since this is our final year, the junior has decided to organised a dinner event for us. For memory, awwhh you guys :')

It's quite exciting for us to finally have our own dinner! I know it's only dinner but hello, we can't wear makeup, heels, dress to the cafe. We are engineer, we supposed to look like we haven't sleep for 7 days.

I've been testing 3 makeup style from 3 different makeup experts in the faculty. Macam nak kawin je gaya dia, over sangat hahaha. And I choose Afifah as my MUA for that night, you guys can check up on her if you want to do your makeup with her. I'll leave the number below.

Weh segan nye letak muka besar-besar dekat blog hahaha. Btw the eyes is done to have a look like a sunset and an ombre lips.

I turned up late to the event since Afifah have to do my makeup after maghrib since she have industrial visit on that evening. When I arrived, they already ate and finished the first round of eating. =,='

Oh btw the theme is masquerade. Guess what, I accidentally left my mask when I was rushing to the car. And I run in sandal, not the heels that I supposed to wear =,=''''

 Very simple yet just nice.

Our performer, Ravivarmarh. Talented engineer.

The event was wonderful. It's the memory that is important. The peoples that I spent the night with, they make it better. I'll definitely remember this night.

All 28 potatoes and beloved lecture, the one in blue baju melayu, Prof. Goto. He's the nicest lecturer I've ever meet and very knowledgeable.

My Pilotoq members; Baz, Mai, Kak Farah, Zaty and Yana.

All of the girls. We has Deepika Padukone in our class guys. And Adriana Lima (that's me).

Grab someone's mask for this picture. Sorry, the empty seat is taken.

And to juniors, you did a great job. Bringing to roasted lamb to the dinner deserved an applause *clap clap in my room*

Thank you for the memories. I'll tell my grandchildren how their granny went to masquerade theme dinner without wearing a mask, They must be proud of me their granny go against the rule. I must be cool, no?

Mamak's week

Assalamualaikum.

Mamak is so famous especially in KL. But I have the thought of food at Mamak is quite expensive compared to small kedai makan and it's better for me to grab foods from fast food restaurants. So I never step my foot into any Mamak's restaurant before.

In my last trip to Jogja, I kenal sorang new friend. She is a friend of my classmate and joined our trip. We called her Deah and she is happy go lucky, making jokes all the time and selfless. I have to make sure she will not find my blog with all these praises hahaha.

She is a fan of Mamak. Big. Big. Fan.

As for me, I am a big lover of food. With big fat stomach as package :(

So when she kept repeating her love towards Mamak, terjentik sikit hati nak try.

When I was a kid, my aunt frequently brought me to an Indian restaurant to have breakfast with roti canai, capati, nasi daun pisang and thosai. It was a very long time ago and I kinda miss thosai. Thosai susah la nak jumpa, pernah jugak cari tapi tak jumpa.

Deah somehow reminds me of my childhood breakfast at that restaurant. And I miss spending time with my aunt too :(

So to Mamak we go.

First time at the Mamak, I ordered naan cheese and chicken tandoori because I miss naan cheese. Thosai can wait. Omg the roti naan is so cheesy, sedapnyaaaa.

The second time I ordered thosai of course! With roti tisu shared with my friend. It was so good to have the taste of childhood again. The thosai was so good! Sedap wuii. Yang sengalnya, since it was the first time we went to Mamak, we didn't know how to call the waiter to make order.

"Panggil je abang manis~"

My beloved thosai. Gambar dari Google.

Then hari esoknya pergi Mamak lagi. Order thosai lagi hihi. And roti Arab which is basically looks like a huge roti burger without patty, not my favorite. But the thosai, haihhh I fall in love.

Paling tak boleh blah, esoknya pergi Mamak lagi hahaha. 3 days in a row dinner dekat Mamak. Tapi kali ni order mee goreng Mamak and roti pori (camtu ke eja?). This roti is crispy thin and sedap la jugak. Roti tisu lagi win.

Oh btw, Deah selalu mentioned about teh tarik halia. So we tried it too and I like it, very much. You should try it too tapi kalau tak suke the taste of ginger, tak payah la engkau coba ya.

Now, I like Mamak too. It's too early for love miahaha. But I love thosai. It's feel good to try something new and actually, it's not that expensive. Well, maybe I'll make Mamak as my weekend treat ihiks.

Dasar jakun hahaha.
